Nurses for Nurses International (NFNI) is dedicated to creating a means of organization and empowerment for the collective strength and wisdom of over 15 million Nurses worldwide through:

• Providing Nursing Centered Services that strengthen care and strengthen Nurses
• Offering consulting, training, and educational services
• Facilitating the translation of Nursing textbooks to the appropriate languages for the areas with the greatest need
• Providing Nursing scholarships for Nurses in need, student Nurses worldwide, and for Nursing faculty exchanges
• Connecting Schools of Nursing in developed countries with Schools of Nursing in underdeveloped countries,
• Creating a web-based store that sells premier products designed specifically for Nurses, and
• Linking Nurses worldwide with the appropriate technology.

According to ICN, “The white heart is the universal symbol for nursing.  It is meant to characterize the caring, knowledge and humanity that infuse the work and spirit of nursing.  The white heart is also a unifying symbol for nurses globally. White was selected because it brings together all colours, demonstrating nursing’s acceptance of all people.  White also has a worldwide association with nursing, caring, hygiene and comfort.  The heart shape communicates humanity and the central place that nursing has in quality health care.” 

All proceeds from the sales of the White Heart pin will go to the ICN's Florence Nightingale International Foundation in support of the Girl Child Education Fund.
