Nurses for Nurses International Foundation is the philanthropic branch of Nurses for Nurses International 

Mission: The purpose of the Nurses for Nurses International Foundation is to:

...develop, strengthen, facilitate, advise, advocate for and fund culturally congruent nursing services and nursing education in developing countries and in humanitarian emergencies/disasters; under the permission to do so of the host country’s Ministry of Health (MOH) or other appropriate in-country nursing authority. The primary aim is to create sustainable , safe, adequately equipped and supplied work environments, living wages and professional development for nurses; thereby creating safer accessible healthcare for those nurses serve - improving the health of all through nursing.

Foundation News:

  • On Feb. 21, 2011 - we launched our new e-book, Today, Leogane
  • Today, Leogane will help to support and continue to grow the work of our foundation

1. Our big project has been to work on building the non-profit arm of NFNI—The NFNI Foundation. This will be the funding arm for the Hope for Haiti Project—and as it develops—other projects  - such as partnering w/ the CAI to help nurses in Afghanistan and Pakistan

4. Five regional presentations on nurses, needs & Haiti around MT

8. Four meetings to create a MT coalition for Haiti

9. Met with MSU (MT) Ex. Committee to partner nursing edu. w/ NFNI

10. Ph. conference w/ Regis College & UCHaiti.org—how to partner.

11. NPR interview and Missoulian article re Haiti/nurses

12. Discussion w/ J/P HRO and UK to create culturally & linguistically appropriate epi training materials for nurses in the wake of the cholera epidemic

13. Two meetings with the Haitian Ministry of Public Health and Population

14. Design of professional development curriculum for Hope Hospital in Port au Prince

15. Development of an ehtics course for coninuing ed. fro nurses at Hope Hospital

16. Participating in the one year anniversary of the earthquake in Leogane, Haiti
